Changing seasons

The Tetons , bold and beautiful with weather(for now) that invites you out on the trail
Our favorite leads up a glacial cut valley along a rushing stream, wildlife is all around. Esten has her bear spray handy.
The weather can change quickly in September. Overnight snow, the trees are changing color, it's time to head south
Before we leave, we check on an Osprey nest we've been watching. Mom is not landing on the nest and the chicks are calling to be fed. We think she's waiting for them to fledge. It does seem time, they have a lot to learn if they'll be feeding themselves before winter.
Time to move though and we cross a couple of hundred miles of open sage on our way to northern Utah and warmer days.
A trail leads up this box canyon to where the creek bubbles out of the ground. Sandstone, dry air. Today we're moving on towards Moab and will camp along the Colorado River in an area that always reminds us of a small Grand Canyon

  1. Thanks for more really nice photos and good narrative.
Does the weather change so much that Esten really needs to carry hair spray with her all the time?
    :-)

  2. Thanks for the update. What a fun Adventure you are having. Do you think the Bears might be having a bad hair day? I'll bet they will really appreciate the bear hair spray, but then again you never know. Sure don't want to get them angery.
Thanks for all the great photos.
